Philly is Unrivaled presented by Xfinity was the league’s inaugural tour stop and first games outside of homebase in Miami. This stop set the all-time record for the highest-attended regular-season professional women's basketball game and also set a new record for the most-attended event ever at Xfinity Mobile Arena, with 21,490 fans.
Leading up to the record-setting night, we collaborated with league partners on in-person and digital activations to drive brand affinity and awareness.
I served as the project lead and liaison among brands, venues, internal teams, and external organizations; led the creative direction for logos and in-venue branding; directed end-to-end event logistics; built and executed comprehensive run-of-show schedules; coordinated player appearances; and led the execution of content deliverables.
Unrivaled Community Day
In collaboration with Philly Youth Basketball and Under Armour, hundreds of girl’s basketball players from local schools and groups participated in an on-court clinic. Unrivaled players assisted basketball staff in coaching the girls on court. After the clinic, players and their families along with hundreds of community members, investors, government officials, gathered for a panel with two community leaders and Philadelphia natives (and Unrivaled stars) Kahleah Copper and Natasha Cloud. The day ended with Unrivaled players participating in a meet-and-greet and taking photos with all the girls who participated in the clinic.
Free Throw Challenge presented by Xfinity
The Free Throw Challenge presented by Xfinity was Unrivaled’s first ever “pick’em style” game. The fan who correctly guessed the league leader in free-throw percentage combined with free-throw attempts won 2 courtside tickets to the doubleheader in Philly, and the winning player, Paige Bueckers, won a $50,000 prize and was recognized at halftime.
I oversaw the game’s development from ideation to execution with cross-department collaboration with several teams across the company, namely our Engineering and Legal teams. I also oversaw the execution of the digital campaign, which drove thousands of sign-ups.
Watch Parties and Pre-Game Party presented by Miller Lite
We hosted two watch parties to drive interest and awareness for Philly is Unrivaled presented by Xfinity, and both led up to the Pre-Game Party, the official pre-game destination for the game that featured Unrivaled and Miller Lite giveaways, Philly is Unrivaled presented by Xfinity ticket giveaways, and a performance by the West Powelton Drummers. In addition to end-to-end event logistics, I oversaw the digital campaign, which drove thousands of fans to attend.
